MADONES

MADONES (MADONNAS) is an ongoing project which explores contemporary women, women who assume their bodies, their sexuality, and maternity. A complex position in modern societies where, until only recently, the existence of representations of mothers and direct and explicit artistic illustrations of motherhood, have been all but occulted. This project also questions the dogmatic standards assigned to “feminism”, a principle of resistance facing socio-cultural institutions often too avid to admit individuals to pre-established compartments.
