Installations
Through the polysemy of verses and images, the photographer evokes this association of the world of innocence and purity, with the illusion of freshness and the sensation of softness. Yet this celluloid flesh and these plasticized figures play on analogy, surf on duality and the opposition between fascination and repulsion, between Eros and Thanatos. The artist, Julianne Rose, slips on ambiguity, the double, the clone, the stereotype and the beautiful ideal. She extracts from the ordinary the very essence of the « disquieting strangeness » that the surrealists pursued in their quest for the marvelous.
